Make My Day ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Reminders and Tasks: Content you create including reminder titles, descriptions, dates, times, and categories
• Settings and Preferences: Your app settings, notification preferences, and theme choices
• Calendar Events: Calendar entries you create or sync within the app
• Financial Data: Money ledger entries, debt/loan records, bills, and budget data you enter
• Health Data: Health measurements, medicine schedules, and mood entries you log
• Notes: Daily journal notes, sticky notes, and other text content you create
• AI Planner prompts: Text you type when using the optional AI planning or analysis features

1.2 Information Collected via Google Sign-In (Cloud Sync)

If you choose to use the optional Cloud Sync feature (available to Pro users), you may sign in with your Google account. When you do, we collect:

• Email Address: Your Google account email, used solely to identify your cloud backup account
• Display Name: Your Google account name, shown in the app for your reference

This information is stored locally on your device and is used only to authenticate with Google Drive for backup and restore. We do not send your email or name to any server other than Google's own services.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
• Usage Data: App features used, crash reports, and performance data
• Local Storage: Data stored locally on your device for app functionality

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain reminder, task, and productivity management functionality
• Send you notifications based on your reminder and medicine schedule settings
• Enable Cloud Sync backup and restore via your Google Drive (optional, Pro feature)
• Generate AI-assisted plans and insights when you choose to use the AI Planner feature
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Analyze app usage to add new features
• Debug and fix technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

3. AI Planner and Google Gemini

The AI Planner lets you describe a day, meeting schedule, habits plan, or ask for analysis of your existing schedule. When you use this feature:

• What we send: Your prompt text is sent to Google Gemini (via our secure Firebase Cloud Function) to generate a plan or analysis response.
• Analysis requests: When you ask to summarize or review your day or habits, we send a limited text snapshot of that day's schedule or habit streaks — not your full database.
• What we do not send: We do not send passwords, payment or billing details, unrelated app data, photos, file attachments, or your entire local database.
• On your device: Generated plans and previews are stored locally on your device until you tap Import or discard them. Importing saves items into your normal app modules (tasks, calendar, daily plan, etc.) under your control.
• Consent: You must acknowledge the AI privacy notice before first use. You can stop using AI features at any time by not submitting prompts.
• Third-party processing: Google processes requests according to the Google Privacy Policy and applicable Gemini / Google Cloud terms.

4. Cloud Sync and Google Drive

The Cloud Sync feature allows Pro users to back up and restore their app data using Google Drive. When enabled:

• Your app data is stored in a private, app-specific folder on Google Drive (App Data folder) that only this app can access
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by Google's infrastructure
• No other app or person can read your synced data — it is private to your Google account
• Cloud Sync is entirely optional and requires you to explicitly sign in and initiate backup
• Photos and file attachments are stored locally only and are not included in cloud sync
• AI-generated preview data that you have not imported is not included in cloud sync

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is primarily stored locally on your device. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

• Local database storage with app-level sandboxing
• Secure data transmission protocols (HTTPS/TLS) for all network communication
• Google Drive App Data folder isolation for cloud backups
• Regular security updates
• Limited data retention policies

6. Third-Party Services

Our app may use third-party services that collect information:

• Google Play Services: For app distribution, updates, and in-app purchases
• Google Sign-In: For authenticating Cloud Sync (optional, collects email)
• Google Drive API: For storing and retrieving cloud backups (optional)
• Google Gemini (AI): For optional AI plan generation and analysis when you submit a prompt
• Firebase: For analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and secure AI request routing
• AdMob: For advertisements (free tier users)

7. Permissions We Request

• Notifications: To send you reminder and medicine schedule alerts
• Exact Alarms: To schedule precise time-based reminders
• Foreground Service: To keep the stopwatch/timer running with a persistent notification
• Internet: For cloud sync, AI features, analytics, and advertisements
• Storage: To backup and restore your data locally, and to save attachments

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

• With your explicit consent (including when you choose to use AI or Cloud Sync)
• With service providers that help us operate the app (e.g., Google Gemini for AI requests, Firebase for infrastructure), subject to their privacy policies
• To comply with legal requirements
• To protect our rights and safety
• In connection with a business transfer or merger

Your cloud backup data is stored in your own Google Drive account and is not accessible to us or any third party.

9. Account and Data Deletion

You have full control over your data and can delete it at any time:

• Delete Cloud Data: Open the app → Settings → Cloud Sync → "Delete Cloud Data" to permanently remove all your synced data from Google Drive
• Sign Out: Open the app → Settings → Cloud Sync → Sign Out to disconnect your Google account and clear locally cached account information
• Clear App Data: Go to your device Settings → Apps → MakeMyDay → Clear Data to remove all local data
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device
• Revoke Access: You can revoke the app's access to your Google account at any time by visiting Google Account Permissions
• AI previews: Discard AI-generated previews without importing, or clear app data to remove them

After deletion, your data cannot be recovered. Cloud data deletion is immediate and permanent.

10. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your data (via in-app options, clearing app data, or uninstalling)
• Delete your cloud data (via the Cloud Sync settings)
• Export your data (backup feature)
• Opt-out of optional features such as AI Planner and Cloud Sync
• Revoke Google account access at any time
• Modify your preferences at any time

11. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

12. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Local data persists until you clear it or uninstall the app. Cloud backup data persists in your Google Drive until you delete it via the app or directly from Google Drive. AI prompt requests are processed to generate a response and are not stored by us as a permanent log on your device beyond what is needed for the feature to work. You can delete your data at any time.

13. International Users

If you are accessing our app from outside your country of residence, please note that your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries. Cloud Sync and AI processing may use Google's servers according to Google's data handling policies. By using the app, you consent to such transfers.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

15. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to request information about data collection and deletion.

16. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. AI processing is based on your consent when you choose to use the AI Planner.
